Clark County Fair

The Beekeepers Association for Clark County have a display at the Clark County Fair that they put on every year.  They have this display to teach the public about bees and beekeeping.  The "Bee Barn" has a variety of displays, Videos, Posters, Basket contests, Honey contests, and a live beekeeping demonstration.

The live beekeeping demonstration consists of a hive with a circle of screen around it.  The demonstration teaches the public where the queen usually is, what she looks like, the different types of cells, the three different types of bees, and where the honey and brood or eggs are stored.

The honey contests are entered days before the fair even starts.   The judges, proffesional beekeepers, taste the honey to see what kind it is.   To win the honey must not be too thick or too thin.  It must not have sugar grains in it, and it must taste good.
